About Mae Caldwell
My Becoming…is just what I am.
My Story
I am a woman who creates. I utilize words to understand and procure my experiences. I find it cathartic to express myself creatively in various art forms. Poetry has been a way for me to escape into words, and I do it often. Ever since I was able to write— I have been playing with words and have never ceased my love affair with them. It makes life—fun to me.
I love being a human but the business of living is taxing and often my getaway car is through writing or creating poetry. I hope to create a safe place here on these pages for my soul to explore— be truthful. To connect with you.
I believe that change is necessary and so there have been many in my life. I will continue to change so long as I breathe. These poems and writings are my record of those changes in real time. I live on the East coast of the United States and have found myself climbing steadily north for the whole of this past decade. Away from my beloved ocean, where I was raised and further into the woods and mountains. I love, love. Nothing compliments me more than nature. Trees will keep every secret—though I will spill mine on these pages. My only accomplishments thus far in life are my two children. I need no further success than their happiness. However, if I can lead by example, and follow where my passions take me— I wish to do so. For them, for me…for life. These words are my dreams coming true—- if you’re reading this—it’s happening for me. It’s that simple. I want to be as authentic to the raw material of myself as possible. You don’t have to agree with the way I live… or the words I use, or the feelings I feel— humility is masterful and I’m forever a student.
I am a woman, I am an artist, I am a creator- I wield a sword of words that I hope cut into the very fabric of who you are.
This is my attempt at manifestation.
The more you read—the more you’ll know me.
Thank you for reading.
