Blood should be thicker but it rarely ever is-

People choose to lose touch, it’s a choice.

Your cousin, your brother, your sister, your mother,

your father, your uncle, your aunt just the same—-

In truth, there’s really no leverage in sharing a name.

They will peek through your window, but not come inside.

Ask shallow questions about superficial formalities–

   They don’t really care.

They don’t want to help you or hear your complaints…

Do you even really need or want to share them?

It is sadness that bonds people, and they couldn’t                     run faster.

Tripping over uncomfortable silences in between                        sips of alcohol.

Money is often a factor, the ultimate blood thinner.

It’s funny how people cut “loved ones” smaller slices of a pie they didn’t bake.

Rest in peace, knowing all your leftovers were scavenged by those vultures you cherished so fondly.
